As the weather begins to warm and the world begins to turn green once again, many of us are looking for ways to embrace the spring spirit! Getting together with friends and family for a great meal or a few cocktails is the perfect way to welcome the warmer weather.
To that end, the team at Papa Lopez Mexican Cantina has put together a list of some of the season's best cocktails. Come in today to sample something new or to enjoy one of your old favorites. The 3 drinks featured below are brand new to our menu!
You know you want to try them ;)
You already know that the Papa Lopez bar staff makes a mean margarita, but we are putting a new spin on an old favorite with our new Blackberry Margarita.
This combination of blackberries, lime, Triple Sec and a touch of sugar is perfectly refreshing, offering a nice change of pace from the more traditional lime margarita. That said, plenty of people come out for the sole purpose of kicking back and enjoying our standard margaritas, so there is really no bad option in this department!
Moscow Mules for Spring
The Moscow Mule has been around since the 1940s. The drink was created when a tequila distributor teamed up with a ginger beer craftsman to create a unique drink that could appeal to a wide audience.
Lime juice adds just enough zip to make the Moscow Mule one of the most refreshing cocktails around, and the drink has found its way back onto bar special boards across the nation.
At Papa Lopez, we have make a few tweaks to give the Mule some springtime flair. Depending on what is seasonally available, our bar staff can stir up a Moscow Mule with watermelon juice, orange juice or even peach nectar. These fruity additions turn the Mule from an old standby to a fresh new take on a vintage favorite.
Old Fashioned with a Twist
Many of us remember the Old Fashioned as one of our grandparents' old standbys. This cocktail was once a standard offering at summer picnics, family gatherings and outdoor events of all kinds.
With a mix of Angostura Bitters, simple syrup and rye or bourbon, the Old Fashioned became a favorite for a reason. Our team has taken this classic and given it a bit of a makeover.
We can mix an Old Fashioned using different types of bourbon, which all bring a unique flavor to the drink. It is also possible to use orange bitters, honey, grapefruit or even a bit of ginger to create a springtime version of your grandpa's favorite cocktail.
Spring has Sprung
No matter what your favorite cocktail might be, we are ready to welcome you in and mix you a drink that will remind you that spring has sprung and that summer is right around the corner. Come in to Papa Lopez Mexican Cantina today and relax on the patio while you enjoy some great Mexican food and an even greater time.
